There are many support groups and organisations who aim to support brothers and sisters of disabled children and those who may also be a young carer.

Sibs is a charity for people who grow up with a disabled brother or sister. They support siblings who are growing up with or who have grown up with a brother or sister with any disability, long term chronic illness, or life limiting condition.

Contact a family have produced a siblings guide which has been written for parents and those working with families who have a disabled child.

Kids have projects which aim to support children and young people who have a brother or sister who is disabled. Siblings and young carers often have significant responsibilities for a disabled brother or sister. These young people are given the opportunity to meet others, make friends, share experiences and have fun.

North Somerset Young Carers Service works to support young carers aged between 5 & 18 years and their families by offering a range of support services, advice and information.
